WITHERING SOUL Cancels Show Due To Injury
April 29, 2009Chicago-based paranormal black metal band WITHERING SOUL has canceled its previously announced May 2 concert in Mount Prospect, Illinois due to an injury suffered by the group's drummer Marek. According to the band, "Marek's injuries are only minor and he will return to his drum kit shortly."
WITHERING SOUL adds: "This is the first show the band has ever cancelled and WITHERING SOUL wants their fans to know that they did not make this decision lightly and that all possible options were taken into consideration. WITHERING SOUL has never canceled a show in the past and even finished a set back in August of 2008 alongside FINNTROLL (Finland) after an injury that occurred on stage at Mokena's Pearl Room. This prior injury was not the fault of the management or staff of The Pearl Room.
"WITHERING SOUL considered the idea of using a session drummer, but due to the little remaining time before the show, they decided against it knowing that no one would be able to learn the complex drum parts on such short notice.
"WITHERING SOUL would like to apologize to their fans whom planned to attend this show and remind them that they will return on June 16 at The Pearl Room alongside ABSU (USA),GLORIOR BELLI (France),SOTHIS (USA) and RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER (USA).
"Although several acts are being considered to fill WITHERING SOUL's slot on this show featuring Chicago's EZURATE and Iowa's NETHERVOID, WITHERING SOUL's slot is currently still available and all interested parties should contact Tim at Pitch Black Productions if they are interested in performing on this show."
WITHERING SOUL has been performing shows for over 10 years now. They are currently seeking a label for distribution of their second, as-yet-unreleased album, "Beyond The Veil Of Mortality".
